Whenever you move an ELD from one vehicle to another, there are a few things you will want to do to make sure the transition is smooth.
Ideally, before you move an ELD, you should check if it is compatible with the other vehicle. For example, the plug may be different. Make sure to get the right plug (or "wire harness") for the new vehicle. You can find more details on this in our article here: Installing BlueLink in your vehicle
Next, the most common reason for a problem when moving the ELD is that you have to change the vehicle name ("Friendly Name") in your ELD. You can do this using the BlueLink Admin app. You can find more details in our article here: Configuring your BlueLink
Next of course, you will want to make sure the ELD is configured to communicate with your vehicle properly. Different vehicles use different protocols to communicate. Typically the BlueLink's Autodetect feature will handle the protocols for you, but if you are still not getting information after following the steps above, try the different settings in BlueLink Admin.
